How to Combat Acne Immediately
- By: Oscar Platikus
Acne isn't fun for anybody. You probably spend more than what you'd consider a fair share amount of time trying to keep your face clear. The amount of money spent on skin products that are supposed to keep us acne free will astound you. Some people will spend their adult lives fighting against acne. Some people spend their whole life battling acne and pimples. Keep reading to learn some of the things you can do to strengthen your fight against acne and breakouts.
Keep your hair off of your face.
Throughout the day your scalp produces oil which gets into your hair and then gets transferred to your face if you don't take steps to keep this from happening. Bangs are especially troublesome oil spreaders for people with acne problems so, if you want to keep your pores oil free, either grow your bangs out or keep them pulled back. We understand the appeal of long hair and bangs, but it is better to keep your hair off of your face. There are lots of ways to keep your hair off of your face and still be stylish: braids, ponytails, headbands, clips, etc. You'll thank yourself later when your skin is clear.
Keep an eye on how much oil is contained in your beauty products and makeup. Even your facial cleanser might have oil in it! Your biggest motivation for washing your face is to get the oil off of it and out of your pores! While you are shopping be sure to check for oil before you buy any beauty products, cosmetics or cleansers. The easiest way to do this is to choose powder based beauty products instead of those with liquid bases. Your facial cleanser should be creamy or lotiony, not nearly solid or oily. Practice your common sense and you'll be fine!
Look through your home for some natural remedies. There are a lot of people who insist that toothpaste is great for zits. Start by putting some toothpaste directly on to the zit after it has finished forming. When you wake up, you will see that the pimple or zit has gotten a lot smaller (do not try this if you have pets who roam free at night because tasting the toothpaste could make them very sick). Some people insist that egg whites can also heal acne. Egg whites can be used both as facial masks and as spot treatments for zits.
Keeping acne away does not have to involve expensive or complicated facial care routines. Having a clean face is the easiest way to prevent breakouts. Remember, though, that your face is sensitive so be gentle with it! You can give your face a great cleansing without damaging your skin!
