Go For Third Brake Light For Stunning Looks & Safety

Author : Nidhi Shrivastava

The third lights are also known as the “center high mounted stop lamp” or the “eye-level brake lights”. These were introduces in the Unites States in the year 1986 and ever since it has been used extensively. It was made mandatory in the same year throughout the United States. They remain in vogue even today even though after so many years of existence.

The 3rd lights were introduced with the prime motive towards the safety of the vehicle. These lights prevent the chances of the accident by some margin against the conventional brake lights. These have an added advantage that they are non-ambiguous in nature compared to the side mounted stop lamps. Some states in the North America have a red light as the turn signal indicator, which may be confused to be the stop signal. These lights also act as an extra brake light, which comes to use when the main brake lights may become non-functional. They are located at a more secure location thus they are less prone to damages.

The main lighting element may use a conventional bulb, bulb set, LED array, or even Neon lamp. Regardless of the car and driving conditions, the LED based lights are more reliable than any other form of lights as they have a longer service life. The stock lights provided in the cars may be all right for the casual car owner but people, who really want their car to look cool and stylish, opt for the after-market lights. The advantages are mainly in terms of better brightness as well as in terms of more visibility, both of which translate to a better warning for the traffic behind you and thus act as better collision prevention system. This may seem trivial but this does helps a lot especially for the stop-and-go traffic, which is prevalent in the big and small cities alike. During the nighttime, the need of a third stop-light is even more due to reduced visibility and an aftermarket 3rd light can come to your rescue as it may even cover the entire breadth of the rear window, giving ample visibility. This also translates to a more aesthetic look for the car and a big differentiator against the other cars.

There are plenty of options available on the website, where you could choose from a range of 3rd lights, designed specifically for your car model. You could get a lot of other lights as well, including ones like the LED Tail Lights, Altezza Tail Lights, 3rd Brake Light, Bumper Lights, Side Markers, Corner Lights, and Fog lights, all at the same place at the most affordable price online.
