Puerto De Andratx: Rich In Culture, History And Local Attractions

Author : Cameron Rochelle   Top Author

Puerto de Andratx, located on the southwest tail of Mallorca in Spain, is a place rich is everything you want out of a holiday trip. In addition, there is always the opportunity to invest in Andratx real estate, which would give you a permanent vacation spot for years to come, or be a valuable addition to your current portfolio.

Located about 30 minutes away from the airport, its not too hard to get to, and gives you more seclusion than some of the more heavily populated areas close by. This city used to be a small fishing town, and if youre an early riser, you can still go down to the Marina in time to watch the fishermen bringing in their daily catch, or preparing their nets for the next days work. This is a great way to settle into the spirit of the city, and catch a moment of serenity before the tourists roll in.

During the day, its common for tourists from other islands to come in to do some shopping and take in the natural beauty of this historic town. The water is as blue as the sky, and the white sand beaches look like they just fell off of a postcard.

Every Wednesday, the Market opens and you can stroll the streets, doing some shopping, or just watching others work their way from seller to seller. Who knows? You may even spot some of the more famous visitors to the town, including members of the Spanish Royal Family, or famous movie stars.

A short 20 to 30 minute drive will take into the city of Palma, which showcases its own share of beautiful beaches, but also a rich historic experience. Like Puerto de Andratx, this city has been designed and refurbished to attract the most chic and cosmopolitan tourist, but its rich history seeps from every city street. The architecture often predates the Renaissance, back to medieval times.

Palaces have been converted into hotels and resorts. Old shops, with original brick and mortar dating back ages, now house modern fashions. The contemporary art museum, the Es Baluard, is located in part of the Sant Pere Bastion. This bastion was erected along the protective wall that surrounded the city predating the Renaissance, up until the beginning of the 1900s.

But before you finalize your investment, there are a few things that will determine the details. Here are a few things to keep in mind and to consider.

One, will you be living there year round, spending a few months there at a time, taking the occasional vacation, or just using it as a rental investment? The answer to this question will affect how much you want to invest, as well as the expected return on investment.

Two, keep in mind that there is always some measure of risk involved in investing. With real estate, there is no guarantee that your property will continue to appreciate. Look at the current trends in the market, and research what the projections are for the future.

Three, how involved do you want to be in handling the property? If youre living there year round, then this is an easy question to answer. However, if youll only be using the home as an occasional getaway, or purely as a rental investment, then youll want to consider whether you want to be involved in the property management. There are many able companies who can manage everything, from the rental arrangements, down to the cleaning crews.

As you consider the possibility of investing into Puerto de Andratx real estate, its important to be aware of both the perks that will keep you coming back or keep your rental occupied, and the practical aspects that will determine the kind of investment you make. But whatever your motives, and whatever you intend to use the property for, you can be sure that the outcome will be as desirable as the island itself. When dealing with something this beautiful, its hard to go wrong.
