The Small Towns Of Salamanca

The province of Salamanca blows its trumpets on a number of small towns and fully fledged cities. The small towns and cities are of great significance to the province of Salamanca with respect to their captivating prehistoric structural designs and many other aspects such as places of interest to holiday-makers within the precincts of the province of Salamanca. These are Ciudad Rodrigo, Bejar, Las Batuecas and La Alberca.

The small town of Ciudad Rodrigo

Many centuries ago, people of the Neolithic civilisation in the quest for untaken treasures and cheap labour from the residents of the part of the European continent converge here. Coincidentally, Ciudad Rodrigo turned out to be the ideal location where they could settle and start a new life. It was this that led to the setting up of the small town of Ciudad Rodrigo on the scenic landscape characterised by the rocky banks of the Ɓgueda River.


The town of Bejar is a household name in the province of Salamanca. The town is well known among fashion enthusiasts from all over the world for its exotic brands of trendy clothing including a variety of woollen wear as well as household textiles such as coverlets. The town is of great economic significance being an administrative and industrial hub in the province of Salamanca.

La Alberca

Al Alberca is perhaps the most famous of all the small towns in the province of Salamanca and ranks amongst the best in the country of Spain. The urban township of La Alberca is known amongst tourists and lovers of art as well as history for magnificent monuments found in many parts of its locality. The crowning of the town as a National Monumental and Historical township leaves no doubt that Al Alberca is indeed a paradise of historical heritage that lovers of the times gone by should unquestionably visit.

Las Batuecas

Last but not the least in the list of the small towns of Salamanca is the petite urban municipality of Las Batuecas which also features on the list of Spain's best small towns.

Only a stone throw away from the town of La Alberca, Las Batuecas is a town endowed with lush vegetative gardens on the Batuecas vale. The gardens are home to a wide array of species of flora that attract a number of untamed but really easy to get along with animals. Should you be seeking an ideal place to unwind far from the hustle and bustle of town, doing so under the bliss of nature cannot get better than in the Batuecas vale of the small town of Las Batuecas.
