Tourist Attractions In Cadiz – Spain

Cadiz City is amazingly situated in the center of a beautiful bay within a peninsula. It has magnificent views and the silvery waters of the ocean simply make a breathtaking view. The coastline is one of the best places you could ever choose to spend a holiday and this city in Spain makes the perfect ground for water lovers.

The city is quite cheerful and friendly and tourists choosing to spend some time here feel nothing short of welcomed. The inhabitants are very hospitable and are particularly famous for their contagious sense of humor. The strategic location of this city has made it very popular and it also has a rich history to it. It has various spots and attractions that cannot be missed on any tour to the city.

The Cadis museum is one of the major attractions in the city. It has an ethnography section, archaeology and art sections and also holds the Roman and Phoenician remains. It is definitely something worth checking out while in the city. There is also an archaeological site where remains from the 18th century Phoenician period can be found. The site goes by the name Casa Obispo and is another tourist attraction on the city.

Other attractions worth visiting include the famous Roman Theater going back to the 1st century and the interesting Roman aqueduct which used to be the city's water supply. The remains are still well preserved and can be checked out at the Blas Infante Plaza. The fish factory Roman Factory is another site worth visiting. It was the main hub for salted fish production which led to the booming of the economy in the city.

You can never afford to miss the Columbarios Romanos where you can get an audio visual presentation of the Roman necropolis and will get more insight on the funeral cult of the Romans. Other attractions are in the form of churches, monuments, military and civilian buildings most of which have great historical value. The churches hold beautiful architectural works bound to take your breath away and you will also get the chance to find out the different meaning or representations of the monuments found in this city.

When planning spending a vacation or simply visiting Cadiz, it is always advisable to plan in advance taking care of things such as accommodation. You might also need to work with a tour guide if you are to exhaust visiting all the major attractions and also those amazing spots that are worth some of your time.
