Cantabria Is The Place For Nature Lovers

Cantabria is a region comprising of Cantabria province in Spain. The capital city of both the province and region of Cantabria is Santander. There is a famous peak in the region named as Pico de tres Mares. That means peak of three seas and there are few gossips about this peak. This peak has access to Atlantic Ocean through the Duero River, the Cantabric Sea through the Nansa River and Mediterranean Sea through the Ebro River.

It is the only peak on this planet having this privilege. It is said that even if a single drop of water falls on the peak then it goes into the three seas because of this great access. That has made the peak extremely important to be visited by various people from various organizations from different areas of the globe.

There are places on this planet that are blessed with natural resources and great wild life. Cantabria is one of those places. It has wolves, bears, eagles and rivers filled up with different breeds of fishes. Mostly Trouts and Salmons are present in the rivers of Cantabria. There are many natural preserves in the region and the most famous amongst them are Saja and Picos de Europa.

Cantabria has a surface area of around 5300 square kilometers. The area has variations of rivers, beautiful landscapes, mountains, modern cities and plenty of places of tourist attractions. The climate varies in different parts of the region and it usually is ideal in most areas most of the year.

The coastal area of the region is excellent and it should be visited for having fun times. The bay areas of the region are awesome and they attract good number of visitors every year. There are many valleys and hills in the region which makes it really exciting during traveling between various places.

The capital city of the region is great in terms of its activeness. There are international festivals held in the city which made it famous in Spain. It is an ideal city for spending times. There are many beautiful towns in the region that are really inspiring for nature lovers. Santillana del Mar is a town in this region having caves from prehistoric times. These caves are known as caves of Altamira and they are worth paying a visit. Similarly the church of Santa Maria de Valverde and Cabarceno natural park are also some fascinating places in the region.
