Even though the current India-England series didn't turned out to be a real thriller and head-turner as was expected, courtesy a sublime all-round performances from the English team and an equally de-moralizing, listless show from the supposedly best Test team in the world, nothing has stopped the die-hard cricket fans from keeping them abreast of the live cricket score even when the team has been in precarious situation and spectacularly failed to overcome them.

However, for the die-heart cricket fans of the Indian team, the team would have a chance to redeem themselves in the shorter format of the game in which they have recently stamped their authority by claiming the world championship for the second time in their cricketing history. The ODI series that starts from September 3 will once again hook them to radio, internet, television, mobiles in their search for live cricket score and to know the game's proceedings.

No one can deny the charm of an old radio set and the running commentary that people would keep themselves hooked to for hours just to hear the commentator say the magic number- the live cricket score and presto you would again be busy in your daily chores whether at office or at home only to return after sometime to know the latest development.

With the dawn of the new century, internet has penetrated and seated itself deep inside our lives and has become a Pandora box capable of doing almost anything at the click of a button. The world of sports hasn't been left untouched as you can see numerous portals, websites dedicated to the game, providing ball by ball update of the latest matches being played keeping the fans informed of the live scores and latest cricket news.

During this period of steady internet growth, Indian cricket team's rise to the top has been a similar affair but its fall from the perch has been amazingly and surprisingly quick. Many experts claim that this was expected considering the amount of cricket the team was playing and especially their maverick captain MS Dhoni who kept on playing cricket whether at domestic-IPL or international level without taking a break.

By the time you would be reading this article, England's team's dominance over the world of cricket, at least in Test cricket would have received ICC's official approval as the team would have replaced India as the top-ranked Test side in the planet for the first time in their history since the official system of rankings was introduced. While at the same time several cricketing heads in India would gather at the conclusion of the England tour and scramble to ascertain the cause behind this abject surrender to the opposition which otherwise Team India was an unknown territory, at least for the last decade that saw it becoming the best Test cricketing side and world champions in both the shorter versions.
