Why Most People Fail In MLM

If you are reviewing this article then you must be sick of wondering why so many individuals fail in this industry. Well there are a number of reasons and it would actually take a whole series of articles to completely explain. So I am going to shorten this down to a couple key reasons so you can stop the insanity.

The first and most necessary reason so many people fail in MLM is that they don't have the right mindset. See most individuals are attracted to this industry because they see that they can make a lot of money on a part time basis and leverage their time. Sadly, most of these individuals also come from a job mindset so their mindset is that of an employee. I work this many hours and I get paid this amount. In MLM, you have to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, which says I do not care what I have to do, I am going to succeed and that is it period.

The second reason individuals fail in MLM is because they join a business who's timing is not right in the marketplace. Now the difficult part about this is that you are not going to hear that from any person involved in the opportunity. Some companies have been around for many years so they have already gone through their big progress phase and the opportunity to make a lot of income has gone. Other companies are too young, the product is not timed well, the corporate leadership has not been in MLM before and the list go on and on.

The third reason people fail in MLM is because the team they joined does not have a system in place for their team to plug into. Building a successful MLM business is impossible if you are doing everything yourself. There are very few individuals who have the skill sets to prospect, present and close like a ninja master. In this industry we actually only get paid for doing a few things, retailing and recruiting. Retailing allows for some small commissions based on products moved so it's really not the core of wealth creation. Where we really get paid is in recruiting new reps into our opportunity and getting those new reps started right. And this is where a well designed system comes in to play. A well designed system will empower people to focus on the core activities that get them and their whole team duplicating and getting paid.

On of the biggest misunderstandings in this industry is that nearly all people get started because they saw some individual who is making an extraordinary amount of money in a short period of time. In reality the person they saw has most often been in the game for years. They screwed up a bunch, figured it out, joined a different opportunity and brought everybody over from that old business and POOF... overnight success. That being said, there are those examples of people who were never in the industry before they have made 6 figures in their first year. These are very couple and far between but when they happen, it is most often because all of the above factors were dealt with and solved before the one decided to grow a business.
