The Serious And Sometimes Fatal Aftermath Of Anabolic Steroids

Author : Hazel Rigg

There has long been a tumultuous series of debates surrounding the topic of anabolic steroids side effects. Whether or not steroid use comes with side effects is usually not the issue, it's the variable nature of the side effects that are of concern. Professional athletes in particular are vulnerable to the more severe side effects due to the high frequency of steroid abuse among them. Of course there are unknown factors at play such as genetics and predispositions to medical problems such as involving the heart. You are pushing your luck with your heath when you choose to engage in steroid use. What follows is a discussion of some of the side effects of anabolic steroid use.

The concern with anabolic steroid use is the organ system can be affected. So depending on the situation, it is possible to see negative consequences in different areas of the body. The contradictory side effects for the most part depends on how the drug is used. Normally, if you swallow a steroid pill, it will typically raise the terrible side effects compared to injecting them. For an increase in their performance, athletes will use particular anabolic steroids. Identical deliberation however, exists when reviewing the side effects. Many steroids have more contrary results than other ones. A problem associated with rapid muscle creation due to steroid abuse can be understood with basic mathematical tools. The body sometimes has difficulty dealing with excessively large bundles of muscle. The overgrown muscles can move edge out the space normally occupied for joints and bones. Therefore an interesting problem arises that the athlete must now deal with. But this is what the high level athlete may have to deal with among other issues. Abuse of anabolic steroids leads to a curtailing of benefits. More broken bones will be experienced with this type of case.

In particular, the lifestyle and social pressures of the body builder culture makes these athletes more at risk. Bodybuilders strive to build muscle mass, but don't care so much about strength or endurance. Bodybuilders who use steroids in this manner actually put on mass from water retention, rather than muscle development. The main drawback is that this approach can induce stress on the heart. The person's blood pressure goes up as a result. But then you have to consider everyone is different so this may or may not contribute to a heart attack.

It begs the question of why is steroid use so common if the side effects are so well known.

Some people choose to mitigate some of these factors by opting to inject the drugs rather than take them orally. The scope of side effect symptoms seems to be lessened when the drugs are administered by injection. But you should not take that to mean you can avoid these side effects all together. This is absolutely insane, but some pro athletes even administer steroids using both injection and oral consumption.
