But the best option still is preventing the formation rather than getting it treated. Keloids form when you wear very heavy jewellery at a site that cannot hold too much pressure. The jewellery worn at such a site should be removed with immediate effect and would otherwise create problems.

Psedomonal infections are very common among the people who have got their body pierced. Due to the infection people suffer from mid fever and body aches. Antibiotics are recommended if any such condition is prevalent. Pseudomonas ensues commonly after tongue pierce. The lips cheek and middle of the tongue are the most popular sites of the oral piercings. If you are wearing a large barbell you are liable to configure the problems like the tooth fracture, chipping and the swollen tongue. Thus reducing the size of the barbell may be of some help. Beaded jewellery may come between the teeth and cause problems. If you have oral piercings than the best strategy would be to get oral rinsing with a good mouth wash at least thrice a day. Regular Listerine gargles produce good result.

Navel jewellery is worn by many Indian women who are very fond of it. It can cause allergic dermatitis and contact dermatitis. Corticosteroids are the mainstay of treatment.
As it is noted that the trends of wearing body piercing jewellery has gained wide social acceptance, it is the utmost duty of the doctors to learn how to treat various complications and also inform the general public about its complications as a health promotion strategy.
