SMS Marketing Strategy And Objectives

Author : Mainhoon Seo

There is a old saying " If you fail to plan, you plan to fail". Before starting any Text message or sms campaign to promote your business there are certain parameters which needed to be decided even before the commencement of the text message or sms and text online or email text campaign. In this article few such points are mentioned with the intention to make your sms marketing campaign more effective and profitable. Let us start with the basic part of any text message, Sms, text online and email text campaign.

text message, Sms, text online and email text campaigns are meant for promoting your business by sending some short of promotional text by using different mediums of communication like mobile and Internet. One thing noticeable is that, when people receives sms there natural habit make them pick up the phone and read the message. After reading text which you have pulled to their mobiles your customers must not hang in zero. I mean to say that there should be some sense in your text which you have sent and it shouldn't be vogue in nature.

Normally text messages or sms have a limit of 160 characters so your sms should be able to deliver its original mean in that limit itself. Language selection should be according to the customer niche and should be in accordance of the product theme. Any short of biasness and other unethical or inappropriate message text should be avoided. Content of the sms should be complete, meaningful and precise in order to draw receivers attention without taking much of their time. When you choose your Text message, Sms, text online and email service provider ask them for the sample content for your message.

Types of messages can be divided into three main categories if we go technically. These are one way, two way and premium SMS. One way sms is a single side communication, Receivers can only receive messages but they cant reply the message on the same number. One important phenominan of such messages is they are valid for a fix period of time on the sms gateway means message should be sent immediately after the catapult.

This type is mainly used to send passwords that are valid for the defined time (Like a password that will be used by the target customer to log in into his/her different accounts over the internet). Another point to focus is, single shot sms cant be blocked by any filter. Normally filtering is a process where a mobile user can stop receiving sms from a particular number by sending that number to the service provider but that service dont support single shot sms. Single shot sms should be used in case you wish to pass any information and any reply from the receiver is not required.

Two Way SMS is an SMS where receiver of your triggred sms can send you a reply of the message on the same number. This type of sms can be blocked by using a message filter. Normally polls and opinion agencies use such types of sms. Your number used in sending the messages must be configured for receiving the messages also.

Premium messages can give receiver a fixed amount of money of receiving a particular promotional sms. Such type of sms have higher attention level.
