Types Of Migraine Headache And Its Symptoms

Author : JackJ Reynolds

It is the fact that it is difficult to differentiate or identity the types of migraine headache that a sufferer experiences. This happens, because most of the types of migraine headache have common symptoms. Uneasiness is being experienced initially by dual ache in the jaw, eye socket, and neck and also back of the head. The dual headache is said to increase the intensity and it starts preventing the movements. Nausea and vomiting are the commonly experienced symptoms of migraine headache.

The classic migraine headache and common migraine headache are the two common types of migraine headache. Migraine headache types are also differentiated as migraine without aura and with aura. Aura refers to effects of pre headache and its symptoms. The classic migraine headache causes jagged lines and partial blindness in one or two eyes and it is the visual hallucination. This migraine headache may also cause disruption in sight, smell and touch. Feel like smelling something strange and numbness feel are also caused by migraine aura. Dual ache will be the first warning for those who are suffering from no aura. This then grows in to some painful throbbing sensation.

The other types of migraine headache includes basilar artery migraine, ophtalmoplegic migraine, exertion migraine, hemipleic migraine, noctural migraine, abdominal migraine and retinal migraine. The exertion migraine headache is the short lived types caused due to physical exercise like lifting and it may be caused due to bending over of sneezing. The retinal migraine causes the temporary loss of vision. The hemipleic migraine headache begins with some type of temporary paralysis on either side of the body. Those who had never experienced may get frightened by this type of migraine. The ophtalmoplegic migraine headache usually begins either in or around eyes and this is associated with the visual distortion or blurred vision. This ophtalmoplegic migraine is said to last for many weeks.

The noctural migraine headache is the very rare type of migraine which occurs during night time and disturbs the sufferer from night sleep. Abdominal migraine will not cause any headache. Abdominal migraine usually causes pain in the stomach or somewhere in the body. Vomiting, nausea are also caused by this pain as a result of migraine. This migraine is very rarely found in children and it is also very difficult to identify when it is actually occurring.
