Dissecting The Most Common Diet Myths

Author : Manny Palombi

If I ask you, have you ever found yourself believing everything you hear about dieting? From the so-called right diet meal plans, to the 5-minute a day workouts, to scratching off carbohydrates from your daily meal entirely and so on and so forth, and your answer would probably be a definite yes. In fact, I too, once in my life, believed those diet myths, well, until I realized that the diet meal plan is was under in was unhealthy for me, and even though it did help me lose weight, I lost bone density and energy as well.

Maybe, we'll start with the most common and that's probably scratching off carbohydrates from your diet. Before we start things off, there is one thing you need to remember about carbohydrates, and there are two types, first would be the simple and the other would be the complex carbohydrate. The truth behind this diet myth is that simple carbohydrates are unhealthy for you, while complex carbohydrates are not, and in fact, people are encouraged to eat them every day. Complex carbohydrates are found in oats, wheat, unprocessed rice and sugar, and etc.

There are also diet sodas. Have you ever found yourself believing the fact that such sugary drinks will help you lose weight, or if not, will not add up to your weight dilemma? I'm sure you have and I'm quite sure that you would be shocked to know that they are not healthy for you. The fact is, they still are sodas, made with the same ingredients as other sodas and they still will make you fat. Also, this does not only include sodas, but other drinks as well that are advertised to contain ingredients that help you lose fat and weight, which actually, are bogus or if not, are plainly placebo.

Also, body cleansers that are so-often advertised nowadays are harmful to you and are only adding up to your financial burden. In fact, our body cleanses itself of waste materials everyday and that is in the form of urine and defecating and the only way you can help to clean and rid your body of toxic wastes and unwanted materials is by eating right, doing the right exercises, sleeping well and most important of all, not believe in these so-called body cleansers.

Other things you should be aware of are those diet plans that are said to help you lose weight in a matter of days, weeks, or months. Regardless of what diet it is, even with a lot of nutrisystem reviews, the fact is, a nutrisystem diet and its other varieties and kinds are often harmful to the body and in fact, only promote weight loss through starvation, which by the way, is unhealthy and will lead to a lot of health complications in the long run, such as loss of bone density and most important of all, the many side effects of stress, which is the product of starving yourself and not eating the right kind of food containing the right kind of minerals and vitamins.

Incorporate to your daily routine, plus, visiting a physician never hurt anyone and they provide excellent tips for people of various fitness levels.
