9 Hints To Maintain Windows XP Running Easy

Author : Zachariah Hopland

There are plenty of points that cause a computer to be sluggish from software program to hardware. It can be too little a difficult drive or not enough RAM. It could be anything from BIOS and/or Operating System Settings to programs that are eating up your CPU and RAM (no matter just how much you've got). Or it could be your network.

Personally, I work my personal computer like a young mother having a home full of kids 12 to 18 hours each day.

That mother needs to unwind at the end of the day and so does my pc and most likely yours too.

Here are 9 Ideas within the order they must be completed that will help keep your personal computer happy and working without complaining:

1. This is so fundamental I shouldn't need to have to say it, Keep Which Ever E-Mail Program You Use Cleaned Out. I have clients who are often complaining, but who refuse to dump years and years of accumulated e-mail.

2. Make certain you might have a superb anti virus program (Only 1 per laptop or computer please), have it up to date, and auto monitoring.

3. Be certain you've got a fantastic anti spy ware program (Only one per personal computer), have it up to date, and auto monitoring.

four. Run Disk Clean Up Every day (Commence, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Clean Up - a box opens - ensure that each and every box is checked, click 'OK' - a box pops up - Click Yes).

5. Delete Cookies and Cached Files Every day (Begin, Control Panel -if you have not performed it but, click 'Switch To Classic View', Web Selections - a pop up box will appear - Delete Cookies, Click OK, Click Delete Files - check 'Delete All Offline Content' - Click OK, Now Set Your Clear History to no extra than 7 Days - if you haven't utilized it for a week you in all probability won't miss it - Click OK)

6. An incredibly critical step almost everybody misses: Empty The Prefetch Folder (Begin, My Laptop or computer, 'C' , Windows, Prefetch Folder, Edit, Choose All, File, Delete - pop up box appears - Click Yes, Close Windows Window)

7. Empty Recycle Bin. For the sake of brevity, I'm assuming every person knows where it can be and how you can empty it.

8. Scan Challenging Drive 'C' (Commence, My Laptop or computer, Correct Click 'C' - box opens - Click Properties at the bottom - another box opens - Click Tools, Click Check Now, Be sure both 'Automatically fix file system errors' and 'Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors' are checked, Click Begin. Get a cup of java (oh, black, thank you) and Wait !

9. Defrag Pc (Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defragmenter - window opens - Choose 'C' Drive, Click Defragment). Pop a leading and Wait !

The last two steps (8 and 9) can take awhile if they've not been carried out recently. I complete this whole routine on my laptop or computer just prior to I stop work for the day everyday and the entire sequence takes no longer than 20 minutes and typically significantly less.
