Coming Up With Creative Blog Post Ideas

Author : Rob Selaney

The reason people subscribe to and read your blog is because you update the content regularly. If you don't update your blog regularly you will lose your audience over time. But, to keep up with those regular blog posts you need to be able to come up with new and interesting post ideas because failing to do so will result in you losing a large part of your audience and valuable search engine ranking. So, just what do you need to do in order to get those creative juices flowing to come up with new blog post ideas?

Use Google Alerts: An easy way to get started with getting unique post ideas is to keep track of what's happening in your niche. You can do this manually, of course, but Google Alerts offers an easy and time saving way to keep yourself informed. If you have a Google account, you can sign into the program to set up alerts for your niche's primary keywords. Google Alerts then sends you updates as often as you requested in your preferences so you can know what is being published in your industry. In this way, you can stay ahead of the competition and get fresh topics to post about.

Use Mind Mapping: Although there are tons of creativity tools out there, mind mapping is particularly helpful to bloggers since it helps you generate a lot of ideas from places that you didn't think of. Map out your intended blog post in an outline form somewhere. You'll find the resulting blog post you write will be interesting and easier to write because you're following notes you made. Do a simple search for some simple online tools that can help you create a mind map quickly and easily.

Interact with Bloggers: Building strong relationships with other bloggers can help give you an edge over the competition. You should be communicating with them regularly, through email, chat, or other methods. This allows you to learn from their experiences, gather tips, get their opinion, etc. And thanks to social networking sites like Facebook, it is not that difficult to stay in touch with a bunch of people at the same time. Get to know other bloggers as much as you can. In conclusion, writing good blog posts is more than just having ideas to write. You must work to create posts that are unique and different. Remember, that all of your subscribers are valuable. So strive to give them something of value every time.
