Dancing- A Fun Exercise & Hobby

Author : CD Mohatta

It can go without saying how much good of a hobby is dancing. There was a time when exercising was limited only to hardcore machines, boring forms of moving your hands up in the air and jumping around like a monkey! Whoever says that exercising ain't fun, they surely haven't tried dancing yet. In this article, we will talk about how dancing is a great exercise and a hobby. We will also throw some light of the various dances that you must try that will keep you fit.

Today with the number of dance forms getting recognition, the idea of dancing for fitness and for fun makes this hobby even more enticing. Some of the popular styles of dance are salsa, belly dancing, tap dance, rumba, hip-hop, contemporary, b-boying, jive, jazz, lindy hop, ballet, cha cha cha, et al. As if all these were not already enough, today more and more new dance forms are kicking in, and making exercise more and more interesting. Belly dancing is ideal for females. As beautiful and sensual as it looks, belly dancing helps reduce fat in areas of your belly, hips and lower back. It also strengthens your muscles making you stronger and improving your stamina. Hip-hop is a dance form filled with fun and freedom. In fact ,if you hip hop regularly, you don't even need anymore physical activity to stay fit. Ditto for b-boying, which is a dance form similar to hip-hop and break dancing. It involves strength and improves your stamina, making you stronger and more flexible. If you want to talk about grace, elegance and maintaining a divine posture, ballet is meant for you. This dance form impels you to keep control of almost every muscle of your body, by straining your entire back, sucking your stomach inside and maintaining a perfect posture throughout. Similarly other ballroom style dance forms like salsa, rumba, jive, lindy hop and cha cha cha help you to develop the muscles of your hips, back, arms and waist. Result is you have a body that you have been dying for in just a couple of weeks, without even sacrificing on fun.

They say that dancing is the best form of art, we say it is the best form of magic. What else can give you enjoyment and fulfillment, help calm your mind and soul, keep your fit and also helps you to express yourself together? So the next time you think that you need some exercise, don't forget to grab your dancing shoes and turn your speakers on.
