Historical Yonge Street

Author : William Jason

I've been to Toronto many times since I first visited the city back in 2006,, and I have really enjoyed the city as there are many things to do there, including the hockey Hall of Fame, and the Royal Ontario Museum. However, many people really enjoy going to Toronto, for the shopping experience, as they have many stores and brands that cannot be found anywhere else in the province of Ontario. Shopping in Toronto is not what anyone would consider cheap, but people usually do not come here looking to save money. It is basically all about the experience, and that is what draws millions of people here each and every year.

One of the best places to shop in Toronto is on historical Yonge Street, which used to be listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest street in the world. The street is extremely historical not only because it is long, but because it allowed many of the residents of Toronto to reach many important facilities of the city, including the subway. The first time I was ever on the street, I couldn't believe how long it stretched for, as it seemed to go on and on. In fact, I have never actually been able to walk this entire street, as that would be virtually impossible. You will find an array of shops here, including famous brand names, and out of the way shops that have many interesting things for you to buy. You also will find that there are a number of restaurants here as well, and this includes small mom and pop eateries, to delis, and everything from Chinese to Italian food as well. The street is so long in fact, that whenever the Blue Jays won the World Series in 1992 and 1993, it literally was able to accommodate over 1 million people at one time.

This is why if you ever visit Toronto, one of the main attractions that you need to check out is Yonge Street. Whenever you are on the street, it is basically like the heartbeat of the city itself, as you can see everything that is significant about Toronto there. There is something here for just about everyone, and I can guarantee you that you will not be disappointed when you see it with your own eyes. Just be sure that you bring along a good pair of walking shoes, because you are going to need them!
