Facebook has a lot to offer your business being that it is the largest social network in the world; you will be leaving money on the table if you are not willing to take advantage of it. Something you should be asking yourself is, what is the best way for my business to use Facebook? What are some actions steps you can be taking right now to make the most of this prospect?

Facebook is for People, Not Corporations -Remember that people don't join social networks to interact with large companies; they want to meet other individuals with names, faces and personalities. If you're a 27 year old Internet marketer that lives in New York, that's who they want to get to know, not the company that you run. When you're on a social networking site, people are interested in building relationships and interacting with others on a personal level. That means you should participate in this environment in the right way and engage with people socially.

Don't Use Facebook for Selling -One thing you never want to do is try to directly sell to your friends on Facebook. You should only be selling on your blog or website, and you can use social networks to generate quality traffic. A good idea is to direct your traffic to a presell page, rather than your sales letter. The key is to always treat your friends on social network in a friendly way, not as people you're trying to sell to. Your business will get more out of Facebook if you stick to recommending rather than selling. You can inform people about your website or products, but you have to be subtle about it.

Professionalism: It should not even have to be mentioned, but make sure that your profile is done to the highest quality of your business. Your business page should not contain any personal photos. The main priority here is to give people an idea of what your company does you can begin to build a brand. To maintain your professionalism on your profile, make sure each update you post is related to your niche. It is so easy to make a bad impression on someone when they find a post offensive in some way. If you have a personal Facebook account, don't use this for business purposes, but create a distinct, dedicated Facebook account for your business. It's just simpler to stick to the policy of not blending your personal and business interactions on Facebook. So if you want to use social networks to help your business grow, the best approach is to use a dedicated account that's focused entirely on this goal.

In conclusion, Facebook is growing every single day and if you want your company to be able to reach the members of your target audience correctly, you need to begin to use the social network to meet those goals. If you haven't started to use Facebook yet you should because the Internet isn't new anymore and Facebook is the name of the game.
