How To Combine Ladies Shoes With Spring Outfits

Author : Jamie Simpson

Spring is quickly approaching and with the coming of nicer weather, cumbersome boots and snow friendly shoes are put away and replaced with their spring weather counterparts. As with any other accessory, shoes can make or break an outfit so you need to always make sure that you are combining the right shoe with that wonderful spring outfit.

With so many ladies shoes to choose from, this may be a more difficult task than one would think. Every year, shoe designers introduce the newest trend but sometimes bucking the new trend and sticking to the tried and true will serve you better. So you have a few new outfits for spring and you want to make sure that you are adding the perfect finishing touch. Here are a few helpful hints to keep in mind.

Always make sure that the shoes you choose match the look and feel of the outfit that you have chosen. In other words, don't pair wedge sandals with a spring business suit simply because the suit is a lighter color. Your business attire should still exude professionalism; you should choose a medium to high heeled pump. When you think of pumps, don't always think of the boring monotone pump that has been the staple of ladies shoes. Designers have spruced up the pump to include flower details, bows, and even a peep toe! With the various ornamentations and colors and textures added to the pump, you can be professional without losing the whimsical side of your personality.

Outside of the office again remember that the rule of thumb is that your shoes need to flow with your outfit. For general outings and the weekend casual wear, picking out the right shoes is as important as the final destination. Where are you going? Do you need to be comfortable yet stylish? The past seasons have seen an introduction of the ballet flats into the collection of ladies shoes. Many designers have created their version of the ballet flat which when combined with a pair of jeans, a skirt, or even a knit dress, gives a graceful, yet comfortable look. Like the pump, the flats are adorned with anything from buckles to bows, and can be found in leather, canvas or even denim. If you find the flats, too basic, you may want to consider a wedge or platform heel. Platforms and wedges also work well with jeans, with skirts or with dresses and give the added height to the outfit.

For special occasions during the spring season, a higher heel says feminine and elegant. Make sure the heel height is one you can maneuver, and choose sling backs or side cut outs to give you that added allure.

Remember to match your shoe with your outfit. Try to repeat a color in your outfit with the shoe. The shoes don't have to be the color of the outfit, but bring spring to your shoes as you did your outfit and you will step out in style!
