Wildlife Tours For The Holiday You Never Knew You Needed

Author : Sam Paul

Have you ever noticed how sometimes a holiday can make you more stressed than the life you left in order to be on holiday? It is quite common actually: and it comes, basically, from the British populations habit of all going away on holiday to the same place at the same time. What you want, when you think of a holiday, is a break from your daily life. What you get, when you go to common holiday spots frequented by the British citizens, is way too many of your fellow country men and women, all covered in suntan lotion and arguing with each other. No: what you are looking for is a different experience. A real break. A holiday in the truest sense of the word. Have you ever thought of trying something really different, like birding or wildlife tours?

A lot of holiday destinations have made the mistake of either trying to emulate the place all the holidaymakers come from or of herding said holiday makers into huge corrals and trying to make them stay with free food and drink. You dont want that. When you go on holiday you are looking for wonderful sights, wonderful things. You want to see and experience stuff that you cannot see and experience in your normal life: which is why a mediocre buffet attended by thousands of screaming children is not the experience the brochures cracked it up to be. Birding tours, or wildlife tours, on the other hand, are. Lets paint a little word picture by way of contrast and you will see exactly what we mean.

So were leaving all those resorts and hideously crowded beaches behind. Instead, you are getting up early, you can still smell the night air in the dawn and of course the welcome scent of a bit of hot food and a cup of coffee. The food and drink rejuvenates you and your own excitement fortifies you for the first trek of the day. Your local guide leads you silently into the forest and twenty minutes later you are raptly watching a tiger playing with her cubs or a rare bird feeding its young. The kind of sight you will never, ever forget.

Wildlife tours are utterly unique, a completely different way to go on holiday. Confirmed twitchers already know that birding holidays will take you to some of the most awe inspiring and beautiful places in the world so if you are fed up with spending all that money every year to go somewhere full of noisy people, why not try something a little different this time? Seek out that beauty and calm you have always wanted from your holiday. If you seek it out through wildlife tours and birding holidays, you stand a very good chance of finding it. And, at this time of year, you can even go somewhere that is both amazingly hot and reasonably cheap like Sri Lanka, for example, or the Gambia. Find a different kind of holiday this year. You might like it.
