Get Healthy In 10,000 Steps

Everybody wants to be as healthy as possible but not everyone has the time to do the required amount of exercise to get there. This is the reason that health experts are encouraging people to adopt the ten thousand step method. The plan is that you take at least ten thousand steps each day (walking) which will help you get very healthy and cut down on the time that is required for exercise. Walking is often a fantastic and low impacting exercise. How often have you heard a health care provider say "just a single walk around the block helps your health"?

Obviously, getting in ten thousand steps day after day is going to be a challenge. That's a lot! The very good news is that you probably already take the majority of those steps each day already and don't know it yet. Your intention ought to really just be boosting your step count by two or three thousand. So how can you do that without feeling just like you're wasting the whole day walking about?

There are a bunch of obvious things that can be done to take more steps. Use the stairs rather than the elevator--that's quite simple. When you go to the store or the mall park your car further away from the door. You may also simply run all of your purchases out to the car or truck once you buy them rather then carting them around from store to store as you shop and take care of your errands. Taking public transit also can increase your step count as you need to walk to your bus or train stop and then back home instead of just walking to your car. Obviously, just simply taking a short walk each day is also wise.

You could also improve the quantity of steps you take by using some less than evident methods. Organize a grocery shopping list differently. Plenty of individuals plan lists by the aisles in their favorite stores. Instead, set up your list into individual categories like produce, dairy and meat. Simply buy down the list from here. Sure you'll find yourself running back and forth through the store but it's great for taking more steps every day. Instead of having a mail box inside your door or attached to your house, install it on a post close to the curb. This could create at least a couple of dozen steps to your count everyday as you walk from the door to the box and back.

There certainly are a lot of ways of build your step count. As you get familiar with the idea of walking 10,000 steps a day you'll think of fantastic ways to reach this goal faster. Thankfully, every step you take--whether it's walking toward the refrigerator or going for walks on a treadmill, counts toward your end step count goal. Try to have fun with your project!
