How To Determine If You Are Ready For Love

Author : Rhonda Jones

Failed marriages and relationships are evidence of people taking miscalculated risks, entering strange partnerships and making commitments without knowing whether he or she is prepared for everything the word love entails. In the United States alone, statistics shows that there are 2.3 million marriages per year. The sad part is that more than 944,000 couples file for divorce or annulment shortly after they have made their vows. The most common reasons for divorce are mental or emotional issues and infidelity. Indeed, these people entered into a complicated relationship without evaluating their inner selves to determine if they were one hundred percent ready for love—the good and the bad aspects. Here are a few things you may want to consider about your inner self to find out if you are really ready for love.

You have defined personal and professional goals - If you sincerely and completely know what you want in life and you have already set your goals and objectives, then you are ready for the challenge of love. Knowing what you want in a partner, what age you would like to get married, where you see yourself in 5 to 10 years and possibly even knowing how many kids you want are great things you can ask yourself to determine if you are ready for love.

You have cut the strings on past relationships - You can definitely declare that you are ready for love when you have moved on from bad relationships in the past. All the hurt, pain, anger and frustrations have all been washed away with the tears you cried. If you can live without the urge to call your ex or search for him and his whereabouts on Facebook or Twitter, then you are ready for a new relationship. Just make sure you have learned the lessons from past mistakes.

You have established your career - You know you are geared up for love if you have an established career and feel complete as a person. The cliché of "you complete me" may seem sweet, but it is not always applicable in real life. People who have an established career or persona and can share a part of themselves with another person do not necessarily need someone to complete them. The ability to share a part of your complete self with someone else defines a successful and loving relationship.

To further assess your readiness to fall in love and enter a relationship, you may want to talk with a love expert or relationship coach. A trained professional will have a deeper understanding of what you may need to truly become ready for love.
