What To Pack For Your Next Beach Vacation

Author : Rick Valence

Packing correctly for a beach vacation will make the entire vacation more productive. It will give you more time to enjoy at the beach instead of creating new stress by making you hunt down things you need. It is inevitable that some things will be forgotten, but if you follow these steps you can be sure to get the vital items.

1. The very most important item to pack is sunscreen that is waterproof. You will want to pack sunscreen that is at least an SPF of 30 and on up to as high as possible. To fully protect your skin, though it may be difficult, you will want to find sunscreen with both UVA and UVB protection. Make sure to pack some aloe, just in case.

2. Quality reading material should be high on your list of items to pack, as well as sunglasses (there are some reading varieties available too). A beach vacation is the perfect time to get caught up on all those novels and magazines that have stacked up. Nothing is more relaxing then lounging on the beach with your feet in the sand and a good book.

3. If you are bringing the kids along then you need to pack some fun games. You should include games for both indoors and outside play. Also, pick a variety of games. This is so the entire family can play together and so the kids can play alone when you need some time off. Metal detectors aren't too expensive these days and they are great for the kids to go on a beachside treasure hunt.

4. One thing that many people overlook when going on a beach vacation is a snorkel. It will add fun and excitement to an already exhilarating swim in the ocean. If there are some good waves at the beach, boogie boards are another great way to have fun in the water and it is much easier to learn than a surfing.

5. You can save money on renting chairs, blankets, and towels by investing in some lightweight beach blankets and towels to bring along. Also, if you are not traveling too far, bring a beach umbrella.

6. To carry all of the items above to the beach as well as drinks and snacks, a sturdy beach bag is essential. Do not forget to bring plenty of water; it is very easy to get dehydrated at the beach. It is also a good idea to pack a wet washcloth in a baggie to wipe sunscreen out of your eyes.

7. What would any vacation be without a great camera? Of course, don't bring your very expensive digital camera to the beach unless it is one of the waterproof models. Since you will be mostly outdoors a few waterproof disposable cameras will work just fine. You may even be able to get them developed where you are vacationing and enjoy looking at them on the trip home.

When taking your next beach vacation, it should be a relaxing experience. Following this advice and taking the right stuff, you will have no problems ridding yourself of stress on your next beach vacation.
