Dog Supplement-Immunity Without Immunizations

Author : Kate Rieger

As humans, we are used to getting immunized for everything from mumps to the annual flu that goes around the world. Doctors do this by injecting small amounts of the disease into us, letting our own immune system work up the antibodies that will fight it in the future. Of course, you have probably gotten your dog's "shots" in the past, but that only builds up his or her immunity to the major diseases. Unfortunately, there are a lot of other diseases and illnesses that your dog needs to be protected against and your vet won't be able to help you with that.

You and your dog can both become immune to other types of illnesses that take hold of all of us by changing the diet and adding to it. We know that if we eat good food and get all the proper nutrition that we need, then we will be healthier, and indeed immune to the many illnesses that go around. The same is also true for our dogs and by using a natural dog supplement; you will be able to make sure that your dog is always healthy.

Antioxidants are one of the most important ingredients in any dog supplement, and something that is generally not found in your dog's food. Most dog food that is commercially produced these days will say that it meets all the nutritional standards necessary for a happy, healthy dog, but that is really not the truth. Because commercial dog food is so unlike what a dog would normally eat, that is more protein and less corn, they are missing out on a lot of the natural ingredients that they would otherwise get. In fact, some people argue that dog food is actually more appropriate for a human's diet than a dog's diet.

You should always have a dog supplement on hand that contains natural, herbal ingredients, providing your beloved pooch with all the extra nutrients that it needs to maintain its healthy status. From warding off arthritis and allergies, to keeping his or her coat shiny and clean, these dog supplements are sometimes the magic ingredient that will turn an otherwise unhealthy dog into a happy, healthy and spunky animal. By choosing the right supplement, you will find that your dog's overall health is improved and he has less illness. You'll notice he or she has a healthier appetite, and a whole lot more energy.
