Install The Right Water Filtration Faucet

Author : Venkata Krishnan Rajagopalan

Are you looking for the right water filtration faucet? As you know, the water from your tap might be all right to wash you dishes with, but you do not want to drink it because it is loaded with sediment from your galvanized pipes. You can pay for home water delivery, but expect to pay between two and three dollars a gallon.

If you are rich, then you will not think this is a lot of money, but most people cannot afford these prices. You might consider buying bottled water from the super market, but hauling gallons of water home from the store is inconvenient. If you have physical limitations like a bad back, you do not need the aggravation of carrying those bottles home every week.

The most economical choice is to install a water filtration system under your sink. There are many brands to choose from. But make sure you choose one that is easy to install. Even if you have no plumbing experience there are models on the market that anyone can install.

Look at the instructions before you purchase it rather than wait until you have the unit in your home. If you cannot understand the directions when you are in the store, then chances are you will not be able to understand them when you are in your home.

Choose a system with a filter life indicator. Filters have to be changed regularly depending on the amount of water. The filter indicator will alert you to when it needs replacing.

Of course you want the best tasting water possible. If your filter is not providing the best tasting water, you have wasted your money; choose the filtering unit that has the best independent taste testing results.

Consider the cost of the filters. Depending on how often you need to change the filters, you should figure in the annual cost of new filters. Choose the filtration faucet that filters out the most contaminants. Each unit has to come out with an independent report of the contaminants it filters out. Choose the model that provides the cleanest water possible.

The last thing you want is for your unit to leak. Make sure to choose the water system that has the proper fittings to prevent leakage. If the unit leaks, it could cause water damage. Making the decision to install a water filtration faucet is a money saving choice. But make sure to purchase the best system you can find.
