Rosacea Acne Treatment - Flare- Ups Causes And Prevention

Author : Jared Wright

Are you in your 30's and beyond? Do you have a fair complexion? Do you tend to flush or blush easily? If you answer yes to all these three questions, brace yourself. You are one of the many who are very susceptible to have Rosacea.

But what is Rosacea and what causes it? Rosacea is a common skin disorder that is characterized by visible blood vessels, persistent redness that is similar to a sun burn or blush that won't fade. It is also described as facial flushing, swelling, bumps and pimples, stinging or burning sensation in the affected area, skin thickening and more.

What causes Rosacea is still unknown, but experts believe that anyone can get Rosacea. Unfortunately, fair skinned individuals, those who have tendency to easily flush or blush, and those who are between the ages of 30 to 60 has a higher chance of developing Rosacea. Moreover, though women are affected almost twice as often as men, their male counterparts tend to have more severe symptoms. For the reason that men are less likely to visit a dermatologist or a skin expert to have their skin diagnose early.

In addition, according to studies, stress, alcohol, spicy food, chocolate and greasy foods are some of the possible factors that can contribute to the development of Rosacea.

Rosacea acne treatment

When it comes to Rosacea acne treatment and management, unfortunately, there is still no definite cure for the disease. However, the signs and symptoms of this skin condition can be controlled.

Rosacea can be effectively and safely managed with topical antibiotics including MetroGel, Rosac and oral antibiotics such as Zelaic acid, Erythromycin, Metronidazole, Doxycycline, Tetracycline, Isotretinoin, Minocycline, and more. Just remember that they cannot treat the disease itself but only the symptoms.

Still, there are experts and doctors that believe that Rosacea can be cured from within through detoxification. This treatment will detoxify, and rebuild the body's immune system to prevent the symptoms from coming back. This is envisioned to be the long-term solution for Rosacea.

Can we prevent Rosacea?

Since the cause of Rosacea are still unknown, experts can't find ways to prevent it either. Fortunately, there are ways that can prevent flare-ups of Rosacea/. Given that, the possibility of Rosacea from getting worse is reduced.

First, you need to find out what triggers the flare - ups. Make a list of what you're eating or doing before the breakout. This should be accurately monitored and recorded as well. Possible factors to trigger Rosacea include sun and wind exposures, extreme temperatures - very hot and very cold, stress factors, spicy foods like chili and Mexican, a number of skin care products, and even exercise.

To control flare-ups, dermatologists and skin doctors would advise the use of broad-spectrum sunscreen lotions and creams that fight against both UVA and UVB rays; suggested sunscreens include Mexoryl or Helioplex. Early detection and diagnosis are indeed vital so that health care providers will be able to provide the most appropriate treatment in the soonest possible time. If you are experiencing symptoms of Rosacea, visit your dermatologist for diagnosis, treatment and management.
