Author : Williams Whiddon

Food is something we all enjoy mostly because it is our body's fuel and many times comforting to our mind as well. Food tastes great and it is the main attraction of many festivities, parties and gatherings however, unfortunately food can also be the cause of many diseases out of which some can turn fatal.

The good news if that heartburn food can be detected and either eliminated or prevented with the right medication and/or diet.

How Can You Determine Heartburn Food

It is hard to determine heartburn food because there is no precise list available to follow; what may cause heartburn in some may in fact do absolutely nothing to others so, the only way to find out what heartburn food affects you most is by paying attention to what you eat.

The most common heartburn foods, even though it is not necessarily the same for all are: acidic juices or fruits, greasy food and caffeine. All types of coffee and tea can produce heartburn as well as sodas that contain caffeine. The most common symptoms of heartburn are: burning sensation and pain in the chest and heart area with other discomforts such as bloating and belching. All heartburn symptoms will occur after you have eaten something and that is how you must try to identify the types that causes it so, you will be able to control it in the future.

Treating And Preventing Heartburn

The best way to prevent heartburn is to determine the heartburn food and try to avoid it however, most of us enjoy certain types of food enough to risk having a bit of heartburn at times for it; the good news is you don't have to have heartburns anymore as there are many types of heartburn medication available in all drug and department stores that can be purchased without prescription.

If you know a type of food is going to cause you heartburn but still want to enjoy it you should try and moderate the quantity you eat and also take preventive heartburn medication before you start eating.

Helpful Tip

The heartburn medication available without prescription must be administered carefully and only after reading the label thoroughly. If your heartburn persists or gets worse consult a doctor immediately and don't over dose on the heartburn medicine as it may cause more harm then benefit in the end. Eating sensibly and taking the right medication at the right time will provide you with a heartburn free life.
