Acne On Back Of Arms: Cure, Causes, Treatment

Can't wear tank tops, strapless or backless attire because of acne? Unfortunately, besides the face, acne can also appear in other areas body that have lots of pores. Though some are highly concealable, still having acne impacts one's confidence or self esteem.

Fortunately, there are treatments for acne. But, before we can decide on the which acne treatment is best, let us discuss what acne is and what causes acne to appear. Acne is a skin disorder also known as Acne Vulgaris. According to experts, there is no specific, single cause of acne. What they know is that acne is caused by stress, poor hygiene, medications, and hormones.

As discussed before, acne can develop in other areas of the body. Areas that have lots of pores and follicles are highly susceptible to acne such as the back of arms. Like facial acne, there are various factors that contribute to the development of acne on that area. These include poor sanitary hygiene, oily or fatty foods, excessive sweating, stress, hormonal imbalance, and side effects of medicines, genetics and even friction. Rubbing excessively can worsen your acne and cause new acne breakouts. Wearing anything that's too tight, like a skimpy top, can cause irritation and possibly acne.

As a matter of fact, since the arms have lots of skin pores, oil, sweat and bacteria can easily get trapped, as a consequence the follicle clogged which then cause the appearance of the acne. Alternatively, when you think of acne on back of arm, these are not just pimples. Forms of acne also include blackheads, comedones, whiteheads, nodular cysts and the like.

Treatment of Acne on Back of Arms

Fortunately, there are ways on how to get rid of acne in the posterior arms. Here's what you need to do to treat acne.

First, take a bath regularly. Use an anti-bacterial soap that you can buy from your local grocery or supermarket. After bathing, pat the area dry. Do not rub because friction will only irritate your skin. Be careful not to over-wash too. On the other hand, if you perspire a lot, make sure that you bathe to remove dirt and bacteria. Another factor that can clog the pores of the skin is perspiration and sweat.

Second, make it a habit to exfoliate once or twice weekly. This will help to remove dead skin cells.

Third, apply antibacterial cream or gel like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Allow it to dry. Make sure that it will not touch any part of your clothing because these drugs can cause bleaching of fabrics.

Lastly, for severe cases of acne like nodular cysts, see a reputable dermatologist or skin expert for consultation. Dermatologists and skin experts can provide you with right diagnosis and the most precise treatment.

Prevention of Acne on Back of Arms

Certainly, there are many ways on how to prevent acne. Observing good sanitary hygiene is one of the best prevention of acne. Practice hand washing to remove bacteria and dirt and also to prevent transfer of microorganisms. Eating a well balance diet with plenty of fruits and vegetable to maintain a healthy, beautiful skin is another way. And lastly, talk to a skin expert or a dermatologist for concerns regarding skin care and treatment.
