Don't Let Morning Sickness Bother You With These Great Remedies

Author : Todd Roth

Extreme temperatures as well as radical changes from one temperature to another can set off morning sickness symptoms. It is a good idea to avoid locations that experience extreme hot or cold. You should bathe in lukewarm water instead of very hot water. Keep your heating and air conditioning at good levels while you are at home and try to avoid places where they may be turned up to extreme levels. This is not always possible, of course, as you can't control the temperature everywhere, such as outdoors! The good news is that, if you realize extreme temperatures cause your symptoms to come on, you can make an effort to stay out of spaces where temperatures are very high or very low.

Along with the nausea and vomiting some women will have muscle cramps, usually isolated in their back. If these become severe, you should ask your doctor what pain relievers are safe to take while you are pregnant.

Right after eating and of course first thing in the morning you should be cautious about not making any sudden movements. Another way to help control this is by light exercise, like walking, even though you might be low on energy at this point. Your symptoms can actually be made worse if you are completely inactive, even though you will want to take it easy. While, most would agree that cramps are a difficult symptom of morning sickness, be sure to get rest as that is the best treatment for most cases.

One of the most important things to remember about morning sickness symptoms is that you are unique, so not every symptom will be the same for you, and not every remedy will necessarily be effective for you. In terms of food, don't ever force yourself to eat anything that you have strong negative feelings about. The only possible exception to this is milk, since you need quite a bit of calcium when you're pregnant. If you discover that you are averse to drinking milk you might be lactose intolerant so seek out a lactose free milk. Yogurt and milk products made from milk gotten from goats and sheep are other alternatives to cow's milk. The general rule is to figure out which foods aggravate your morning sickness symptoms and to avoid them while making sure that you still get good nutrition.

Your morning sickness symptoms probably won't be like other womens' symptoms and they might even be different than the symptoms you had for your last pregnancy. Whatever your symptoms may be, you are undoubtedly looking forward to the day they stop happening. The majority of your morning sickness symptoms will probably be pretty regular but if you experience anything irregular or painful, call your doctor immediately.
