Blogging Platform

Author : Carine Taleen

Deciding what your priorities are in terms of ease of use with customization. Highly adjustable blogging platforms, for example Moveable Type, are a little more difficult to use than very automated platforms like Wordpress. If you are fresh to blogs and to internet technology, you might require to give-up the ability to make a custom background template or to integrate a particular font into your template in order to find a program that will be smooth for you to use

Another important criterion to remember is your technical competence. Some platforms require the bloggers to have basic knowledge of HTML and CSS. If you have the technical knowledge to manage your blog on your own, you can opt for a self-hosted blog platform, but if not, you should go for a paid blogging platform.

There is no such thing as a blogging platform that is objectively the best platform, because every blogger has unique needs. The blogging movement is very much about individuality, so it makes plenty of sense that there would be many different platforms available that are designed to meet the needs of different kinds of individuals undertaking different kinds of projects to express their unique voice.

Blogging is very popular and if you want to get anywhere online you need a blog. It may seem simple enough to just choose a blogging platform and get started, but if you plan on taking your blogging seriously, you need to choose a blogging platform carefully. There are many platforms from which to choose. It can seem a bit confusing at first to know which ones are good and which ones are not so great.

Blogspot, usually referred to as Blogger, is Google's blogging platform. As you would expect from Google, this is a very user friendly platform. It is also extremely popular, many claim it is the most popular blogging platform available. Blogger was one of the first blogging platforms, so this helps a lot in making it easy to use. It is also free.

This will depend on whether you choose to go with an entirely free blogging platform or if you want to control your own content. If that is the case, you will need to pay for hosting and a domain name. You can also factor in the expenses of whether you want a free theme or purchase a more editable theme. Other services you may want to consider are having your own theme designed for you and other types of tools.

Although there are many platforms to choose from, Wordpress and Blogger tend to be the most popular. Users preferences vary, but most tend to label Blogger as being easier to understand and use while the Wordpress blog is considered more flexible and adaptable, offering more options to individualize your blog. As one of the most basic blogging platforms.

The primary way (and very powerful way) of traffic generation for blogs is through search engine optimization, or SEO, in short, and one key aspect of SEO is about tweaking the code that goes behind the website? While your site can be aesthetically attractive, the search engine spiders only see the words and the HTML code! So in order to "give the spiders what you want to give them", you need to have full access to the HTML code behind the template!
