Or there are many scenarios where users have little or no social contact apart from the friends they find through Facebook. They find themselves captivated to Farmville or Kung Fu Master. It becomes so addicted that even if they try to do the right thing they just cannot stop gaming. Their aim in life is not to achieve something in life or career but to gather and earn maximum number of points in each game. They hardly find time to spend with their family as they are mostly busy networking. Whatever the reason may be, how do you actually quit using Facebook? So, let us go through the instructions that will help you to cancel your Facebook account.

Terminate your Facebook account
The best approach to quit your Facebook account is to delete your account. It’s only a matter of few steps to delete your Facebook account.

Step 1

Open the Facebook home page and log into your account or profile.

Step 2

Once you are logged in click on the ‘Accounts’ tab you may find on the top right side of the profile page. There you can a drop down list with the following tabs:

‘Edit Friends’, ‘Account Settings’, ‘Privacy Settings’, ‘Application Settings’, ‘Help Center’ and ‘Logout’

Step 3

Now click on ‘Account Settings’ and a page will open which contains information associated to your account. Scroll down the page and you can find the ‘Deactivate Account’ link.

Step 4

If you click on that link you will be prompted to answer the reason for deleting the account. You can either select the reasons cited or you may type your own reason to quit Facebook.

Step 5

Once you cite or select the reason, click on the ‘Submit’ button to terminate your account. A very important thing that you need to do is to never visit Facebook for the next 15 days. By doing so, you will be re-activating your Facebook account.

So, simply follow the above steps and get yourself freed from the virtual world of social networking. Just keep in mind one more thing. Prior to Facebook, we had numerous ways to get in touch with our friends and family. It only requires a bit of willpower to quit using Facebook.
