Who Are You Marketing To?

Whenever you are advertising or marketing to anyone it is always important to know what your target market is looking for. This might sound like a hard thing to do but it really isn't too difficult to understand what people are looking for, especially if you have experience in the niche you are marketing to. For example, it would be difficult to know the wants and needs of rock climbers if you have never rock climbed in your life. On the other hand, if you are passionate about rock climbing it would be easy to identify with the needs of fellow rock climbers. Well, the same is true for network marketing. If you have been in a network marketing company then you can automatically associate with the needs and wants of people in the industry.

If you ever felt uncomfortable trying to persuade your friends or family to join your opportunity, then you can be sure that just about everyone else has felt that way also. The point is to relate to your fellow network marketer and let them know that you have found a legitimate solution to a major problem that they are facing. Show people that they can fix their problems and you feel their pain. For instance, I remember one day my upline made me drive around with him and zip tie poster boards to the middle of busy intersections. This was awful advice, and it proved to be very ineffective. So once you have built a little credibility with your prospect you can now introduce them to a solution or a product that will help them.

The internet is awesome because it allows you to market to very specific people. If someone types in "{xyz company} training" then you know that this person is looking for more training and they are in xyz company. You will be even more effective if you are in xyz company because you can relate even more with your audience. If you are going to market to this opportunity it is smart to make the prospect feel like you can relate to them and know what they are going through. Obviously you are there to give them answers to their problems, but in order for them to take you serious you have to show them you are sincere.

Think about any feelings or thoughts that you had when you were searching for answers. Try to remember the way you thought after you had just joined. Then when you remember the problem that you overcame, offer a solution to that same problem to your prospect or list.
