Restaurants are apparently disgusting. Study after study comes out about how much bacteria is in the ice, the lemons, the food, everything. Why do we even bother.

Disgusting! I have always requested a lemon wedge with my drink -- no more! Is it really any surprise? Especially in the US -- so many of the kitchen workers are foreign, especially from Mexico, who have terrible hygiene habits! I've seen too many Mexicans (and are they legal?!?) come out of of the bathroom, NOT WASH THEIR HANDS and go to the kitchen. You get what you pay for -- makes me want to never eat out again! And, sorry if this sounds "bigoted" but it is what it is...

"Not necessarily cause for alarm...You might want to be aware that the lemon slices have the potential to make you sick." So does the glass, the water, the straw, your plate, your silverware, your food, the air, etc. The fecal matter bacteria is pretty sick I'll admit.

Well..........not everyones washes their hands or uses hand sanitizers. I have been out in a restaurant, went to the bathroom and have witnessed some people come out of the stalls, don't bother to wash their hands, and just go straight to their table and start eating or they will go straight to the buffet and pick over food. Just gross!!!!!!

The difference between breathing germs into our lungs, and having bacteria-covered lemons in our drinks is that germs from lemons are more preventable. I think people have a right to be disturbed or outraged at this news, because frankly, this doesn't have to happen. Resturants can be more cleanly, and they choose not to.

FFS Ive had tons of lemons in this way and im alive, so has millions of others. THERE ARE FECAL BACTERIA ALL OVER YOUR BATHROOMS And many other places. Seriously, more exposure to germs in a reasonable way will only boost your immune system.
