In the case of AC the current oscilLates with no, or very little energy differential between oscilations, hence it's very poor efficiency when trying to catalyze water. Saying this reaction could not be made more efficient is like saying that you cannot have a better electrical conductor than copper. While under most circumstances you would be right, but just as in superconductors we now know that we can transmit electrical current with an extraordinary efficiency under the right conditions.

One could make a joe/Stanley Meyer cell more efficient than they are commonly known to be, by several methods, some of which have already been tried, and have been claimed to work, such as increasing the surface area of the reaction site, as Tesla himself would put it compressing energy in time, such as using a pulsed dc current with an oscillating polarity, and energy differential with each polarity change so that more current flows to one location.

you guys have this cell pegged all wrong. first of all this process goes by two names that I'm aware, of catalysis, and electrolysis. The word Free represents the idea of getting something without any kind of fee, monetary or otherwise. By itself this is not a free energy system!! But if the reaction apparatus could be made more efficient than the common cells they've done research on for years and I'm certain without a doubt it can, then this cell could be combined with a hydrogen fuel cell.

*breathes in deeply* i can almost smell the hydrogen *looks refreshed* in all seriousness it still requires an electric load to produce hydrogen, therefore its not free, and not efficient considering that 90% of the north American grid still operates off of coal or nuclear only marginal percentages are ever run off of hydro electric or wind, unless you are fortunate enough to live near such. the Potato battery is the only way to get free energy! plug in thousands today :)

The joe cell is basically a contraption that seperates Hydrogen from H20 (the official name escapes me), those are the hydrogen bubbles you see (all that white fluffy stuff). If there was a way to harness this H gas, not to mention produce it in large, it could be the next big thing yo.

(we see evidence of this at the poles where it is concentrated and reveals itself in Aurora borialis) perhaps you could channel the energy down to earth as microwaves or a particle accelerator such as Tesla's death ray but instead of destroying things alter the frequency and only have it channelling electricity??? just a thought.

therefor solar energy is free as it provides heating, light for plant and animal growth and of course seasons to trigger life cycles of both plants and animals again however I have not mentioned an invisible "energy" that the sun emits that is free, electromagnetic radiation if you were to get out in the other atmosphere away from the ionosphere and collect the stray electromagnetic radiation that is emitted from the sun

Hi Phil, I would disagree to a point, yes it does take Credit to produce an contraption that can produce "energy" but what sort of "energy" are you referring to? if you are referring to solar energy than the radiant energy that is emitted when the fusion reaction occurs is free to us and has been for thousands of years that we know of in datable history.

it's been measured, wish i could remember where, that the cell only needs about 800 watts, & we can get about 1 horse power. --so we can get more out than we put in, & if it ran on a solar panel as well...& so basically for the size of cell 40-60oz, it's almost like the same size jar worth of gasoline :Pnot free but pretty descent anyway that we can get out more than we put in

It looks cool, but how much gas does it produce in one second? can it make the car idle? If it would make car idle at list, then it is a free energy, and if you feed it with petroleum (gasoline) the car would be way more fuel efficient, because pure oxygen or hydrogen are very highly explosive. SO NEVER MIND THIS IGNORANT CLOSED MINDED PEOPLE!!
